the strutting totem

Description

the strutting totem takes the solemn tradition of the carved column and gives it somewhere to be. From its crowned summit down through layers of spotted, hatched, and scalloped forms, the stack leans into its stride, balanced improbably on wiry, splay-toed feet.

Each layer contributes its own character — a beaked profile here, a dotted shell there — as though a whole village of creatures agreed to travel as one body.

The piece radiates momentum and mischief: heritage on the move, tradition at a trot.
